With the recent release of the iPhone 6 fraternal twins, our society once again comes face to face with a bullying issue: phone bashing. There are many who would be quick to put someone down for being obsessed with their iPhone, or dismissively tell someone off who is excited over the latest tech. When you observe and examine society’s behaviour and ‘new normal’ though, you would be hard-pressed to argue that we don’t live in a tech-savvy, cell-phone centric world. Everyone has a cell phone now. Even those that have income handicaps have government-funded options to obtain a cell phone for low or no cost to them. We are reliant on them for everyday activities, from checking to weather to pick out clothes for the day, to creating grocery lists for dinner that night, and everything in between. With new technology, hardware updates and software changes, we are given the opportunity to further streamline our digitally intertwined lives, strive for better health, and have better access to information about the world and people around us- it’s perfectly reasonable to be excited, and even a little giddy about it! So carry on campers in front of the Apple Store, don’t let the haters stop you from doing yo thang- they probably got locked into an agreement when they got that Galaxy S5, and are just jealous anyways.
