There truly is no place like home. That’s been the loud and clear theme over the last 2 1/2 weeks. I have an incredible network of amazing friends, and loving family, and opportunity to succeed in my own way here in the Sunshine City of the Sunshine State. I initially started this post to do my 3 gratefuls, but since I’ve returned, I have so much, and so many people to be grateful for. I know, super gushy and all, but between the saturation of welcomes, and holiday season descending upon us, and the rush of endorphins from my recent replenishment of this thing called sunshine…. I felt I needed to get it all out. So here we go!
I had no idea I would bring such joy simply by coming back home, I was completely overwhelmed with how overwhelmed you were that night, and I’ll never ever forget that moment with you.
Your tears were unexpected, but moving, and I’m so incredibly grateful how you and I took could have been lemons in our lives and turned them into an amazing friendship that has survived through the years. Thank you for always being available for me, for keeping me in the loop, the invitations into your home and your life, and for Taco Bell 🙂
I love how close we’ve gotten in the few years we’ve known each other. You are the light and sparkle in my best friend’s eyes, and knowing you are there for him makes me all warm and fuzzy! I’m really happy you’re a part of my life, and I’m looking forward to when we’re all old and still gossipping on the back porch
Trista-Boo-Boo-Child! You and I have shared many moments together, and like a knight in shining armour, you came in and rescued our damsel, Miss Hannah, and have stayed by her side through thick and thin. You two are disgustingly sweet together, and I love your love!
Well, our friendship is truly a test of time! It’s hard to believe high school was so long ago. I am so grateful we’ve stayed friends this whole time. You are an incredible human being- brilliantly intelligent, witty, beautiful, and a sincerely genuine person. I couldn’t think of a better person to have spent this past Thanksgiving with! Thank you for always being there for me, I love you 🙂
This last year has been quite the roller coaster- ups, downs, and spirals included. Change is always scary, and I feel hollow and nervous knowing it’s happening with certain dynamics. I love you and know that you’ve always been there for me, as I will be there for you, too. If I could just bake us a cake made out of Rainbows and Smiles, and we’d all eat it and be happy… I most certainly would (We just won’t use blue icing, I hear it’s a bitch to get just right!). I am grateful for your friendship, and can’t wait for our next coffee date!
Our Shenanigans will never compare to others’; We are the champions, and there is no competition. I love spending afternoons in the sun with you, nights under the streetlights, and mornings in random people’s guest bedrooms! Can we never grow old, like ever? Also, we still need that boat, you know, the one with the cabana boys…
Mack Attack! Thank you so much for keeping my return a secret! I was so happy everything worked out so well, and that you were my first friendly face back home 🙂 I am looking forward to many, many more half-off wine nights at Grazzi!
Jim and Shaille:
I’ve missed you guys you crazy kids! I can’t wait for you guys to get hitched, and I hope to be a part of it. You two are an inspiration for all couples, and I love being around both of you. The round table is a better place with the two of you there 🙂
Mr. Lavelle, our timing is always impeccable… I am happy you are happy though, and I am so excited that I get to see you so often again. You’re practically my co-worker being next door 🙂 Now we just need to work on hanging out while we’re both on the same side of the bar…
Mom, Dad, Chris:
Times are a changin’, and I’m really glad I’m home to be a part of all the new things happening in our family’s craziness. You all have been so supportive and been gracious to give me rides to and from various errands and work, and providing a place to crash and food in the fridge. Thank you for everything, I love you guys!
Miss Yessica, I am so proud of you and all you’ve accomplished in so little time. You’re a leader, and a great one- talented as ever, with big brains, AND beauty. I am happy for your happiness with James, excited for the road ahead of you and your newly rejuvenated motivation to finish school, and your dreams of living abroad. Wherever life takes you, as long as you are following your heart, you will always have my love and support.
Speaking of success and being a proud big brother- my Brat sister! You faced some of the toughest fears to overcome- you transplanted to a place where you knew virtually no one, could only navigate with the aid of your iphone, and have been challenged since day one in every aspect in your life- whether that be making new friends, getting a new job, or studying for an exam. I could not be more proud of you, and will always be proud of everything you put your heart and soul into.
WE STILL HAVENT SEEN EACH OTHER?? This. Must. Be. Fixed. Looking forward to fixing this situation, and getting our caffeine fix Friday. You are my unicorn, and I have missed you to pieces. You’re my reliabiliabuddy, and reliabiliabuddies don’t let reliabiliabuddies down. I am excited to hear what has been happening in your life, all about Biceps and his latest stories, and what your future holds. Whatever it is, I know it will be full of rainbows, unicorns, and glitter 😀
Rebecka- I am so stoked for what the future holds for our partnership. Working with you is a breeze, and I feel truly in my element joining forces with you. I am the type of person who constantly needs to learn and grow and remain challenged, otherwise I become bored and lazy. This opportunity is incredible, and I can only see things going up from here. With my combined experiences, working in different industries, working in electrical, having leadership roles, technical roles, customer service roles, and of course hospitality, I’m ready to give this my all and be as much of a resource as I can. You’re lovely to work with, we get along great and think on the same wave length, which makes us a great team. Shout out to Bobby- I’m so stoked to form Team Ricky Bobby!! We need to make car magnets….
Stacey, Ian, Lindsey, Nikki, John & Kate, Honey, Sauce, Stebo, Ally, Juliet, Julia, Curtis, Matty, Coley, Jesse, Kuba, Lauren, Deni, James, Cody, Bobby, Larry, Paulie, Lindsay, Carrie, Kylin, April, Sam, Matty D, Matt H, all my beards, tatts, and mermaids at Octave, and an umbrella for anyone (im so sorry!!!!) else I may have missed, I am SOOOO happy to be back and around downtown. There’s no better feeling than being able to walk around your hometown and run into friendly, smiling faces everywhere so great. You guys are what make this city shine so bright, and I love you guys!
