A day with the UE Boom 2

Today I received the UE Boom 2 to try out at work. I’m pretty pleased! Great sound quality, nice compact shape, and some neat features. For those who like to take their speaker everywhere, like myself, the water-resistant rating is great. Poolside, beach-side, or the source of my shower-concerts, it’s nice knowing this $200 speaker will be just fine.

The big plus and minus symbols along the side of the device are a pretty simple but attractive design element, but also serve as the volume buttons. They’ve got a good feel to them. Something I don’t like with the design is that the charge and aux port are on one end, while the microphone and LED and Bluetooth pairing button are on the other. makes it difficult to quickly plug in or unplug and manage phone calls or devices at the same time. IMO, should’ve consolidated these user interfaces on one end versus splitting them up.

Overall, great speaker for an all-purpose, super portable music-aficionado. I don’t get paid for affiliation, but for ease of finding and checking out the specs, the image links you to Verizon Wireless’s info page!
